In industrial systems, ISO 22400 is commonly referenced when defining KPI models for MES, MOM, analytics platforms, and ERP-MES reporting. It helps align measures such as availability, performance, quality, throughput, utilization, and schedule-related indicators so that different systems and sites use consistent definitions.
The standard does not, by itself, make a plant compliant, certified, or operationally effective. It also does not replace the need to map local data sources, equipment states, production counts, scrap, rework, and time classifications correctly. In practice, ISO 22400 KPIs are most useful when the underlying data model and calculation rules are clearly governed across systems.
